This camp is situated in the Silvermine Nature Reserve and the Silvermine Dam can be reached within a few minutes walk for clients wanting to swim.  The camp is accessible via Ou Kaapse Weg and makes up the second nights accommodation of Jenman’s Table Mountain Hoerikwaggo Trail.  This tented camp would also be used for the Silvermine Trail from Kommetjie to Constantia Nek. Silvermine offers partial view over False Bay.

The camp is made up of 1 4-sleeper family tent, as well as 4 2-sleeper tents.  The tents are equipped with electric lights, single beds and mattresses with sheets.  The camp also has 2 ablution blocks, housing a set of showers in one and a set of dry toilets in the other. The showers have warm and cold running water and it is advised that clients bring bio-degradable soap only.  The water used in the showers is straight from the dam and is not filtered.

The Silvermine communal area is made up of a kitchen equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, as well as a big dining table for indoor dining.  The outdoor communal area comprises of a big braai area, as well as a climbing wall around the walls of the communal kitchen.  The water provided in the kitchen has been filtered and is safe for cooking, but we do recommend that you bring bottled water for drinking.

Firewood, charcoal and firelighters are provided for your meal preparation.  The camp runs on battery-generated electricity and there are no facilities to charge cameras.  There is no cellphone reception at Silvermine Tented Camp.

The Silvermine Camps are equipped with the following:
• Cooking utensils like pans, pots, plates, mugs & a two plate gas stove
• Beds with mattresses
• Glassware: Wine and drinking glasses
• Braai wood, Grid, fire lighters etc
• A refrigerator with limited space
• Hot and cold water showers
• Fully equipped communal ablution facilities
